“The noncupative will of Thomas Pleasants deceased is proved as followeth, to wit:
John Hall on oath saith that on the fourteenth day of December one thousand seven hundred and seventy five the said Thomas Pleasants in his last sickness and at his place of residence called him the said John Hall and told him and Milly Hunnicutt that he was going to die and that he did give Peggy Hunnicutt a negro girl named Phillis and his horse and a saddle to be bought out of his estate and a pair of buckles and the said Milly Hunnicutt on her affirmation saith the same and the said John Hall further saith on oath the he committed the said will to writing on the same day and Miriam Pleasants and Sarah Scott also on their affirmation saith that the said Thomas Pleasants on the same day did give a watch to John Hunnicutt all which is ordered to be recorded.” Apr. 22, 1776.
